The future is mobile and apps will continue to play a huge role in the continual development of the mobile industry. It’s great to see how innovative and creative the Irish app industry actually is.”

Over the last year goldenpages.ie has transformed itself to a new media company and through this transformation, our mobile and app platforms will play a significant role for us. The announcement of the shortlist for the Appys coincided with the recent launch of augmented reality (AR) in our goldenpages.ie app. Through the AR function users of the goldenpages.ie mobile applications for iPhone and Android can view secret elements that complete the design of this year’s front covers on all directories nationwide.

Here is what Catherine Weadick, Marketing Manager Truvo Ireland, publishers of goldenpages.ie had to say on success of our mobile and app platforms: “The demand for goldenpages.ie apps on Android and iPhone is great. There are over 130,000 goldenpages.ie apps installed on Irish devices which generated over 171,000 mobile visits in October. Earlier this year Samsung Ireland, who have 37% share of the mobile market, preloaded the goldenpages.ie app on their premium Samsung Galaxy S2 and refreshed Galaxy S1 Android phones.”

Stephen Conmy, editor of Digital Times had this to say on the future of apps “Apps will evolve from what we know them as today. Obviously gaming apps will still be huge but future apps will become intelligent pieces of software capable of better organising people’s lives. In the minds of the most adventurous apps developers, this is the first generation of technologies that we will wonder how we ever lived without.”

We here are goldenpages.ie are excited and determined to lead the way in mobile and app development for our users, making their experience enjoyable whilst making their lives easier when finding what they need.
