Navan Career Start run QQI Level 3 and Level 4 courses aiming to develop students by growing confidence, self-awareness and academic skills. All staff are experienced, approachable and focus on the individual needs of the learner. Each course covers a range of subjects and includes a work placement which gives learners the opportunity to work in areas that are of interest to them. Creche places are available through the CETS scheme.
Courses
Navan Career Start provides a comprehensive course set, allowing students to progress to full time employment. “Pathway to Employment” is a QQI Level 4 course consisting of 8 modules. Learners then choose a minimum on three other modules which may include Digital Media Technology, Computer Applications, Childcare and Food & Nutrition. Each course contains career preparation and personal effectiveness lessons.
Learning Guidelines
To be eligible to join the programme learners must be unemployed, between the ages of 17-35 and have achieved less than 5 D’s at Leaving Certificate level. Learners may be early school leavers and no former qualifications are required. Enrolling in a course will not affect your current benefits. Under the CETS scheme, learners attending Navan Career Start are eligible for crèche places.
